A Little History of Egypt….

The official currency of Egypt is currently Egyptian pound and is subdivided into piastres. This 25 piastres seems to be not in circulation as the current series of Egyptian pound is at £5, £10, £20, £50, £100, and £200. In the year of 1981, Egypt’s third President, Anwar Sadat, was assassinated by extremists. President Sadat was succeeded by his Vice President, Hosni Mubarak. President Mubarak enacted several restrictions including the freedom of speech and freedom of assembly in 1981.
