A Little History of Colombia….

Colombia pesos oro continues to be currency of Colombia; however 20 pesos have been ceased and is no longer in use. The latest currency bills issued had a lowest denomination at 1000 pesos. One of the events involving Colombia in the year 1969 was the signing of the Cartagena Agreement, aka Andean Subregional Integration Agreement . The agreement was signed by 5 countries of South America – Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. The purpose and objective of the agreement was to promote social and economic prosperity and cooperation. It was enacted in May 1969 and the agreement seems to remain active until this day.
